Yearwall Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Yearwall is a planner for your whole year. It's built so your plans stay yours: we don't run servers that store your calendars, we don't sell data, and we don't use ads, analytics, or tracking.
What stays on your device and in your iCloud
- Your plans. Yearwalls, Planning Calendars, events, locations, tags, people, notes, photos you add, your Epic Year plan, and your Bucket List are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We can't see them.
- Shared calendars. When you share a Yearwall or Planning Calendar, it's shared through iCloud with only the people you invite. They see what's on that calendar, including its tags, people, locations, and photos, and the name of whoever added each event.
- Photos. Photos you attach to events are copied into Yearwall, shrunk to save space, and synced through your iCloud. Yearwall only sees the photos you choose in Apple's photo picker; it doesn't have access to the rest of your library.
- Widgets. Yearwall's widgets read a summary of your upcoming plans and memories that Yearwall keeps on your device.
- Backups. Yearwall keeps a daily copy of your plans on your device for the last week, and you can export a backup file wherever you choose. Deleted calendars stay in Recently Deleted on your device until you remove them.
Calendars from the Calendar app
With your permission, Yearwall reads events from the calendars you connect, such as an iCloud or Google calendar, to show them on your wall. This happens on your device.
- If you turn on Add and Edit Events for a connected calendar, Yearwall adds, changes, and deletes events in that calendar when you ask it to. Those changes are saved by the Calendar app and synced to that calendar's account, such as Google, under that provider's privacy policy.
- If you turn on Show in Apple Calendar, Yearwall writes your plans to a calendar named Yearwall on your device.
- Tags and people you add to connected-calendar events are stored with your Yearwall data in your iCloud, not in the other calendar account.
Locations
When you search for a location, what you type is sent to Apple Maps to suggest places, under Apple's privacy policy. Yearwall saves only the place you choose: its name, address, and map coordinates. Yearwall doesn't access your device's location.
Invitations
To let family see an invitation inside Yearwall, Yearwall stores a small invitation record in Yearwall's iCloud container. It contains the name of the calendar, the name of the person who sent it, and a link that only works for the people invited. It's addressed using a scrambled code made from the recipient's Apple Account or the email or phone number you entered; the email or phone number itself isn't stored. Invitations are removed once they're accepted or withdrawn.
Account
"Continue with Apple" is optional. If you use it, Apple shares your name and the email you choose with Yearwall, which keeps them on your device to personalize the app. They aren't sent to us. Your name is shown to family on events you add to shared calendars.
AI assistant
- Apple Intelligence. By default, the assistant runs on Apple Intelligence. Your requests, the plans it needs, and any files or photos you attach are processed on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designed so your data isn't stored or accessible to Apple.
- Claude, with your own key (optional). If you add your own Anthropic API key, your messages, the relevant events from your calendars, and any files or photos you attach are sent directly from your device to Anthropic to answer, under Anthropic's privacy policy. They don't pass through any Yearwall server. Your key is stored in your device's keychain and isn't synced. This only happens if you add a key.
- Nothing the assistant suggests is added to your calendars until you choose it.
Purchases
Yearwall Premium and Your Own Claude Key are one-time purchases through the App Store, shared with your family through Family Sharing. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details.
Children
Yearwall isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
- Delete calendars and events in the app.
- Use Settings › Start Over to erase all Yearwall data from your iCloud and every device signed in to your Apple Account.
- Use Settings › Account › Delete Account to remove your Sign in with Apple account from Yearwall.
- You can also remove Yearwall's iCloud data in your device's Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
